“I’m no longer in active politics. It’s irrelevant to me what young Singaporeans think of me. What they think of me after I’m dead and gone in one generation will be determined by researchers who do PhDs on me, right? So there will be a lot of revisionism. As people revised Stalin, Brezhnev and one day one Yeltsin, and later on Putin. I’ve lived long enough to know what you may idealized in life and reviled after you’re dead” -LKY
23 March 2015,
Woke up to the news that Mr Lee Kuan Yew had passed away. Well, he was the founding father of Singapore and despite me not liking a lot of the policies they created I’ll still give him credits for making Singapore what it is now. He spent his life creating this country and well, he is successful.
He is like the ideal husband type to me though, but sadly there is only one of him and no other guy can replace. His wife is very lucky…
And I will say he is a great leader. Not just anyone can lead a Third World Country to become such a great country in just 50 years. Many country have been struggling since long ago and have not succeeded because they don’t have good leaders. I’m proud to say Singapore have one great leader.
And talking about leaders..
A great leader should be one that will generate more great leaders. Not one that makes their poor workers do stupid tasks. I’ve always believed that a good leader will give their follower a platform to become a greater person, so they can step up and challenge leaders. Leaders that can produce better leaders are what I deem successful. Leaders that make their follower do stupid tasks so that they can never do better than them, are what I call cowards. Yes, sometimes leaders need to get their followers to do silly tasks because they have more important things to do, but if they don’t, I’ll just call it pure laziness.
