It feels good to finish the first semester of University. It had been one hell of a ride.
New environment, new school, new friends. And most importantly, new expectations.
I had to get used to the fact that this isn’t polytechnic anymore, and those childish acts from before had to go. The professors here do not give out A grade like buffet; in fact, they only give it to people who really deserve it. It is hard to accept that it is now way harder to get A grade, and also one mistake on our part would get us B or C grade. The professors do not hesitate to give low marks for poorly done works, and this motivates me to do even better to be deserving of my grades.
This led me to think, perhaps DBS, and my ex-coursemates are not as smart as other people think. People think we are smart because of our GPA, but little do they know, how easy it is to achieve them with minimal effort. Just doing the bare minimum will ensure you to get B grade at the very lowest.
I don’t think I’ve worked so hard before in my entire life before coming to University. I started preparing for exams 1 month in advance. Back in poly, 2 weeks in advance would be enough for a B+ to A grade. Meanwhile, I don’t even have the confidence to pass my finals here despite the extra efforts.
To celebrate the end of finals, I went up to Dundee Law to take some photographs.
