Finally, after almost 3 months here, we went to Tiong Bahru Market to have lunch! My colleague had been recommending me Tiong Bahru Market for cheap food throughout my internship and we finally went! YAY!
It isn’t really far away, just behind our lab actually.
Turns out to be the place that daddy brought me to long ago. It was after my spine check at HPB I think, and we went there to eat. It stills look the same.
We went at about 12+ and it was crowded but we still manage to find a seat fast. I went to buy kway chap which I wanted to eat since long ago. That Pearlyn uh, say want to eat but never set a day for it HAHAHA. I’m glad that I still got to eat it once before going back to Dundee. My colleagues went to get chicken rice and lor mee.
$3.50 for kway chap is super worth it, but I didn’t know they’ll give me the intestine and stuff. Usually, I will tell the kway chap stall people I don’t want them, but this particular stall had a misleading photo. Their plate of kway chap only showed the tofu and stuff so I didn’t tell the auntie I didn’t want the weird stuff.
Also got a cup of grass jelly for a dollar but it was too sweet. Initially wanted soy milk but they ran out of it. #annoyed
There is a tray return station and for some reason, I read halal as non-halal and nearly put my tray at the wrong place. Thank god my brain wisen up in the nick of time.
We ate so fast that we had a lot of time left. We took the shuttle bus back to SGH. So cool sia, they have shuttle bus from SGH to Tiong Bahru market.

Besides lunch, I also went to Duke-NUS to do transfection today. It is always stressful when your supervisor is watching you. I don’t know why, but I tend to make mistake when people are watching. Haiz… I wish I’m as good as my supervisor but it’s still a long way to go. Science is such a long route and the skills are so hard to pick up. Why? I need to be as good as quickly as possible!
