Started the day off at 3am-ish because guess who toh-ed way too early?
All of us.
None of us had dinner before we slept. When I woke up, Pear was already awake and I thought, “ahh, she probably just came out of the bath”. LMAO it’s frigging morning. Anyway, finished the donut I got from Lidl and had the yogurt drink which, by the way, taste damn good. Never in my life did I had yogurt drink as good as that.
Sadly it’s a Berlin thing.
When everyone woke up (at like 5am-ish), we decide to cook the pasta that was supposed to be our dinner. Forgive the shit quality photo.
Did not poison anyone with my cooking so yay?
We did head out pretty late despite everyone waking up early. Headed towards the concentration camp first, which is in fare zone C so we had to buy the more expensive metro ticket. Thankfully it was just a few cents more because yays to group fare.
Did I mention that we took an atas looking train? Well, that shit is comfortable. Wouldn’t say the same thing for the bus ride to the camp. That was packed.
It just so happens that it was dark that day. We still managed to have a good tour of the camp. There’s many information about what they did and stuff like that. They don’t have the old bunks anymore, but they did mark it on the ground.
It’s a really weird feeling going it. I heard this camp is more for politically prisoners, so it’s kinda different from the one we studied about in history class. But finally seeing one with my eyes feels amazing. I wanted to see one since I was 15. I’m glad I did. And I hope this will never happen again.
Why hate? Life’s too short for it. Can’t we all just live peacefully together?
We missed the bus, and the next bus would come in a long time so we headed to the one and only cafe near us for lunch. It wasn’t too expensive but wasn’t the best meal too. Paid €2 for this. €2 for basically a boiled hot dog and bread. LOL
Headed off after lunch to Sanssouci Palace, which was almost an hour travel on a pretty comfy train. The view was too nice to sleep it off!
It’s a very pretty palace but it doesn’t interest me as much as Forbidden Palace. #Asian
Cost us like €8 to enter I think (bless the student discount) and another €5 to take photos inside (bless the fact that we went as a group). I don’t know why they charge us to take photos inside but damn whatever man, you can have our money. Ripping money off poor students TT
Well at least the €8 comes with audio tour so at least I know what I’m looking at. Feeling bad for that queen that is not loved by one of the king lol.
The back of the palace is the garden, which is quite pretty as well. There’s like a group of art students there that day painting the… fountain?
We left Sanssouci for… FRIED CHICKEN! Yep, went to try their local food Schnitzel, which is basically fried chicken to me. But before that, let me show you the €1 mango sorbet I got at the train station. 💖
My 1 EUR mango sorbet!
Tasted so damn good OMG.
Back to Schnitzel… So like there is a store selling that at the train station as well, and we were all pretty shagged after the whole day of running around Berlin. But we still chose to go to Scheers Schnitzel, which is kinda famous and it was a good decision.
Ate under a bridge HAHAH. Very good experience, very good food (and affordable as well).
And that’s pretty much all of our Berlin’s adventure. Next up: London!
