So I had a horrible toe injury. Very long story.
I was just returning after my shower and in my desperate need for rest (and partially my messy room), the door slammed onto my toe. It hurts so bad but I thought it would be like you know, usual hit the toe kind of thing. Except it’s not. I couldn’t see what happened because I wasn’t wearing specs or lens at that time and when I finally saw what I did to myself, I was on the verge of crying.
Half my right big toenail came up. Like 90 degrees up and there was blood. Lots of blood and pain. I was panicking and went to NTU’s Fullerton hoping that the doc can do something to it but nope. All he can do is say it’s no biggie and to go polyclinic tmr. Like hmm, so I limped there for no reason?
Had a horrible painful night but luckily it got dealt with at the polyclinic the next day. GP initially wanted to remove the entire nail because that’s what docs do right? Anything wrong just remove… But with my begging, he sent me to the podiatrist upstairs who is a god sent because he helped me trimmed off the part that came off and saved the rest of the nail. Thank god. If not it’s 2 injections to my foot plus a nail-less toe.
Appreciate the allied health worker people, they are so much more useful than the docs 😭
